Ingredients

black bean sauce

  • 2 tablespoons fermented black beans
  • 4 garlic cloves minced
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon sugar
  • ½ teaspoon chicken bouillon
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • ½ tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 3 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon corn starch

pork chop marinade

  • 3 pork chops 1.5 pounds
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • ½ teaspoon chicken bouillon
  • tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger sliced (add extra 1 tablespoon if you like)
  • tablespoon corn starch

Instructions

  • Tenderize the pork chops by pounding both sides.
  • Next, marinate the pork chops by adding 1.5 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon sugar, 1/2 teaspoon chicken bouillon, 1.5 tablespoon oil, 2 minced garlic cloves, 1 tablespoon sliced ginger (add extra tablespoon of ginger if you like), and 1 1/2 tablespoon cornstarch. Mix everything together and set aside.
  • Make the black bean sauce. First rinse the fermented black beans gently in water a few times. Strain the water.
  • Next, mix fermented black beans with minced garlic, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon sugar, 1/2 teaspoon chicken bouillon, 2 tablespoon soy sauce, 1/2 tablespoon oyster sauce, 3 tablespoon oil, and 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch. Mix well in a bowl.
  • In a large pot, add a steaming rack and some water. Heat water to medium high. When the water starts boiling, you can steam the pork chops for 10-13 minutes or until the pork is cooked. Feel free to add the black bean sauce to cook with pork chops or steam separately (steam sauce for 5 minutes only). If you steam separately, you can add the black bean sauce on top later.
  • Serve pork chops with black bean sauce with rice & leafy vegetables. Hope you enjoy!
